All teachers are placed on Point 0 for their first year in teaching.
After this probationary year, if you are successful in becoming a full registered teacher, your salary will increase by one increment each year.
If you've got relevant career experience, it is possible to jump up to four points on the salary scale after successful completion of your probationary year. This is dependent on the relevance of your experience to the post to which you are appointed. You will need to discuss this with your employer who will then decide at which salary point you should be placed on the Main Grade salary scale.
